Gerald Wright, colleague, Donner Canadian Foundation
I worked with Pegi for a number of years in the Donner and Max Bell Foundations, where her perceptive intelligence and calming influence were very evident. It was noteworthy how quickly she connected with people outside the Foundations who had ground-breaking ideas and were doing ground-breaking work, and how much they delighted in dealing with her. She also possessed an indomitable spirit, which must have shown itself in recent months. I am not surprised that she did not let her illness drag her down. Memory of her good spirits in the face of adversity will serve as an inspiration to everyone. There are so many positive memories of Pegi that help to ease the sadness that we all feel now.
